Farm Field Trips
Thanks for your interest!
Full Circle Farm’s field trips and tours are designed to engage students, teachers, caregivers and parents. We can accommodate groups of students and adults up to 30 participants at a time. Occasionally, we are able to host larger groups, please contact us for details. Field trips to Full Circle Farm will introduce students to the world of agriculture, gardening, food systems, and backyard science. PreK-5th grade field trips run $7 per student, 6th-12th grade and public tour groups are $12 per student; we do not charge for participating adults with school groups.
We do ask for engaged adult participation as it adds to the students’ experiences and we require a 2:1 student:adult ratio for all preK age children and a 4:1 student:adult ratio for all elementary age field trips. If your students are in Middle School or High School, please contact us for details on student:adult ratios.
At this time, our field trips for school age students on the farm and in the garden include a variety of hands-on educational activities. We offer over a dozen possible activities and can tailor activities to best meet your curricular goals for the day. Field Trips lengths begin at 60 minutes and consist of age appropriate explorations through the farm crop rows, a tasting tour through our garden, exploration of worm bins and compost piles, a seasonally appropriate, hands-on activity, and a chance to meet and feed our chickens.
Visits occur at pre-scheduled times. Our visits are held rain or shine, with the exception of strong winds and dangerous conditions. In this case, we encourage you to contact us before hand to verify we will still host your visit at the pre-scheduled time and date. We encourage children and adults to dress appropriately, with closed toed shoes, rain gear when needed, hats, sunscreen, water, snacks, and any other materials needed to stay comfortable and safe on the farm. We currently can not provide any of these materials. Our tours will begin promptly at the designated time and will begin by the yellow-tent Farm Stand.
Picnicking is also encouraged if you wish to spend some time on the property relaxing before or after your tour. Please bring your own blankets or chairs, we encourage trash-less snacks and lunches. In the event you do have waste, please be prepared to pack it out with your group as we have no trash facilities available.
