Funding
HOW IS FCF FUNDED?
Lots of folks think that Full Circle Farm might be funded by the school district, or even by the government. The truth is, we are an independent nonprofit organization and ALL of our funding comes from foundation support and individuals like yourself!
Did you know that Full Circle Farm is less than 2 years old? In that short time, we have reached over 1200 school children and thousands more in the community!
To keep expanding, we need your support. Click here to donate online!
While our build-out plans mean that Full Circle Farm will become self-supporting through the sale of its produce by 2012, we depend on the financial support of the community and foundations to fund our educational work and our administrative costs.
Our programs – including our year-long curriculum with Peterson Middle School, our Green Thumb Corps job training program for at-risk youth, farm-to-school programs for grade school children, and consultations with schools and community groups – are made possible through the generous donations of individuals and foundations.

WHY DONATE?
Donations help us continue to provide a diverse range of outreach and education programs, and to touch the lives of thousands of individuals each year. In just 2 years, Full Circle Farm and its many volunteers have:
- Planted 105 orch
ard trees, creating the first new orchard in Silicon Valley in over 75 years. - Planted our first two seasons of healthy organic vegetables, including summer’s abundance of basil, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, tomatillos, okra, and corn and winter’s hearty root veggies, greens, garlic, potatoes, leeks, and broccoli.
- Initiated our first season of community supported agriculture, launched with weekly shares for 25 families in August 2008 with 25 more families on our waiting list.
- Created a stunning educational garden space used by both students and the community, a patch of earth where people can come to see, smell, taste, and touch the bounty of the farm.
- Delivered our first produce to Santa Clara Unified School District cafeterias, where 45% of students qualify for free or reduced school lunch.
- Created a pilot educational program, which is currently bringing weekly farm-based education to all of Peterson’s 360 sixth grade students.
- Donated over 3000 lbs. of produce to safety net groups that feed the hungry, and created a 50-share Thanksgiving Box program on a sliding scale to get fresh produce on the holiday menu regardless of income.
- Hosted three highly successful free community festivals, attracting hundreds of families from our surrounding neighborhoods and beyond.
- Created one of the first ever green job-training programs in Santa Clara County, the Green Thumb Corps. In partnership with NOVA, we have a crew of at-risk youth learning critical job and life skills in a novel 6-week farm work experience!
